John Rand Cabin at Dartmouth

for the third year in a row, sebastian and i spent the first weekend of october
nestled in a setting of mossy rocks,  babbling brooks
and spectacular rainbow colored trees.
a bit of rain made for even brighter hues,
and poppy found some apples to fetch and munch on.
we brought some friends, played board games
and cooked some stuffing and mashed potatoes.
and just like that it became fall.

Molly & Anirudh's Wedding

the most colorful, celebratory wedding that we went to this summer has to
have been molly and anirudh's, set on the grounds of molly's beautiful
childhood home in barrington, rhode island.
the ceremony was indian traditional and charming, and the reception was
the sort of party you'd expect when jared is behind the turn table.
the best part? each of us took home a bamboo flute
which was lovingly handmade by molly's father
(who cut the bamboo from his own garden!)
congratulations molly and anirudh!

Vermont: The Party

on august 4th sage and colin celebrated their marriage and nico's
wonderful existence at colin's family home in montpelier, vermont.
a bluegrass band played under a gorgeous tent on their rolling property,
kids ran about and played with bugs, dogs tried their hardest to get at the its it bars
that were served in lieu of a cake, and when the sun set, three years worth of
yard brush, old christmas trees and scrap wood were lit into a massive bon fire.
could not have been more perfect.

Vermont in August

in august we went up to calais, vermont to see sebastian's family
and celebrate his sister's year-ago marriage.
we rented a little hansel and gretel cottage for almost no money,
and rowed our little sears row boat across the lake to see the gang.
there were lots of babies, beers, flowers and cooking,
and the whole time the sky was a vermont perfect blue.

Nico's Bath Time

sebastian and i finally had a weekend in brooklyn a few weeks ago,
and that meant we were able to babysit his nephew nico.
we took him for a walk in brooklyn bridge park,
and when it started to rain we rushed home to warm up in the bath.
i had so much fun snapping photo after photo of this little one.
could he be any cuter?

Portland, Maine

in late july the lovely kathleen invited me, grace, and mccall
family's charming beach home in beautiful saco, maine (just outside of portland).
we picnicked at the portland head light, ate pie at the yarmouth clam festival,
feasted on seafood a-plenty, and didn't resist a bit when portland stole our hearts.
with its majestic old brick buildings, pristine water front, tasty local beers,
seriously delicious restaurants, and the greatest weather
i've experienced on the atlantic, whats not to love?
thank you kathleen for such a wonderful trip.
have us back soon?
