Brooklyn Local

it's been a while since i've been to a tasting event.
they are usually too crowded, and too pricey.
but today city harvest had their first ever "brooklyn local" purveyors market
and tasting event and -- as you can see from the pictures -- it was amazing.
the weather was crisp, the location (the tobacco warehouse) idyllic,
the crowd the right size, and the tastes scrumptious.
hello, autumn!

Admiral's Row at the Brooklyn Navy Yards

mccall pointed out these great posts on kingston lounge,
which offer a sneak peak into the homes on admiral's row near the brooklyn navy yards.
the ten houses (six buildings) were built between 1864 and 1901,
and inhabited through the late 1970s.
officersrow.org also has a great collection of photos and history about the community.

Nantucket: Goodbye Summer

apparently lots of travels means very tardy blog posts. (these are from august)
nantucket, on the other hand, means grey shingles,
bright blues and cherry reds, wavy sea grass, classic cars, and sea food.
i'm among the most anxious for fall, but if summer means nantucket,
i can't wait for next.
